Description

The Mathonet Fish Farm, found between Malmedy and Stavelot, has been raising trout in harmony with nature ever since 1935. This queen of Amblève is something you absolutely must try on your stay!

So why not pay a visit to the passionate folks who produce it, too? This fish farm tells the story of a family who love their region and their land. The magic words are: patience, pride, and know-how. They work in harmony to create a completely unique product.

Head off with a guide to discover the secrets behind what they produce. You’ll learn all about different kinds of trout, what they eat, and the values of this craft typical of the Haute-Amblève region.

And finally, you won’t leave without trying some traditional trout mousse to round off your visit. It’s well worth the detour, we promise.
